Sophia Grace From ‘Ellen’ Fame Becomes A Mom, Welcomes Baby Boy

Sophia Grace Brownlee, the British influencer and former child internet sensation, recently announced that she is a new mom to a son. She gained fame for her exuberant covers of Nicki Minaj and frequent appearances on the ‘Ellen’ show.

Brownlee announced her pregnancy in October 2022 via a YouTube video and revealed she was having a boy in November. She shared updates about her pregnancy, including pictures of her baby shower and her growing baby bump, with her followers.

On February 26, 2023, Brownlee shared the news of her baby’s birth via Instagram with a photo of her holding her newborn son’s tiny hand. Ellen DeGeneres, the host of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ that launched Brownlee’s career, commented on the Instagram post with news of the birth, “Welcome to the world, Nicki Minaj the 3rd!”

Sophia Grace Brownlee became famous for her covers of Nicki Minaj’s hits, including “Super Bass,” with her cousin Rosie McClelland. They first came to fame in 2011 when their performance of the song went viral. After that, they appeared on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ and met Minaj, which led them to become red-carpet correspondents for various awards shows.

In May 2022, the duo appeared on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ for a final time. Following Brownlee’s pregnancy announcement, McClelland congratulated her family member on social media and expressed excitement for their next chapter in life.

Brownlee has not yet revealed the baby’s name or the identity of the baby’s father. In a YouTube video, she explained that she would seek privacy for her newborn and would not show her baby’s face until she felt ready to.

Research shows that many new parents choose to limit their child’s exposure to the internet and social media in the early years of their life. According to a 2021 study by the Pew Research Center, 61% of parents of children under 13 report that they limit their child’s exposure to their phones or other devices, and 57% report limiting the amount of time their child spends on social media.

In an age where social media is a prevalent part of our lives, it is important to consider the potential consequences of oversharing information about our children online. As more and more parents like Brownlee seek privacy for their newborns, it is clear that a shift towards more limited sharing is happening.
