“Return It, I Don’t Care How Rich You Are”: Uncovering Dior’s $3,500 Advent Calendar Fiasco

Dior’s limited edition $3,500 Advent Calendar, the “Trunk of Dreams,” has been met with harsh criticism for its contents. Influencer Jackie Aina has been unveiling the gifts inside on TikTok, which include sample-size perfumes, soap, a candle, and a candle lid. Viewers have expressed their disappointment with the calendar, noting that the items do not add up to the price tag and that the calendar is a waste of money.

This holiday season, luxury brand Dior has released a limited edition Advent Calendar, the “Trunk of Dreams,” for a whopping $3,500. Influencer and businesswoman Jackie Aina has been unveiling the gifts inside on TikTok, and people are less than impressed. Inside the calendar, buyers find a tease, a bar of soap, mini perfumes, a candle, and its lid, all sample-size items that don’t add up to the price tag.

Other items include more mini perfumes, a coaster, a candle snuffer, and a Christmas ornament. With 24 items in the box, each would need to be worth at least $145 to equate to $3,500, and viewers couldn’t help but feel like the calendar is a waste of money and maybe even worth a return. Comments on TikTok included “Return this, I don’t care how rich you are” and “For $3,500, there better be a damn purse on day 25!” It’s safe to say that Dior’s Advent Calendar didn’t live up to the hype.
