The couple tied the knot in July 2022, a few months after announcing their engagement in November 2021. Before their representative confirmed their marriage, Lohan referred to Shammas as her “husband” in an Instagram post.

Following Lohan’s announcement, many celebrities and fans congratulated the couple on social media. Amanda Seyfried, Lohan’s former co-star in Mean Girls, wrote, “This is WONDERFUL NEWS!!!” Nancy Meyers, director of Lohan’s film The Parent Trap, added, “Lindsay!!!!!! I’m so excited for you!”

Lohan has been open about her struggles with substance abuse in the past, which overshadowed her acting career throughout the 2000s. She even shared her experience of having a miscarriage in 2014 while filming a documentary series for the Oprah Winfrey Network.
