Influencers Hold Up Traffic on Brooklyn Bridge: ‘Not Even the Cop Sirens Could Stop Them’

Two women have been heavily criticized online after footage caught them holding up traffic on Brooklyn Bridge in order to take photos of themselves. The women were seen standing behind a parked car in the right lane of the bridge and another woman was seen sitting on the metal structure of the bridge posing for the camera. Cars were honking and slowly manoeuvring around the parked car, causing delays to the flow of traffic. People have expressed confusion as to why the women chose to take photos in the middle of the road instead of using the pedestrian walkway. The video serves as a reminder that busy roads are not a good place to stop for photos.

On December 12, 2022 at 15:26 GMT, two women were caught on camera by TikToker @melekete, holding up traffic on Brooklyn Bridge in order to take photos of themselves. The iconic bridge, which connects Lower Manhattan with Brooklyn Heights, is a popular tourist destination and is known for its high stone arches.

The footage showed a black car standing stationary in the right lane of the bridge with someone standing behind it taking photographs, while another woman was seen sitting on the metal structure of the bridge and posing for the camera. Cars honked and slowly manoeuvred themselves around the parked car, forcing the traffic to merge to avoid a collision.

The women’s actions were heavily criticised by TikTok users, with many pointing out that Brooklyn Bridge does have a pedestrian walkway where they could have taken pictures without fear of being struck by an angry driver. It is unclear whether the women faced any repercussions for their photoshoot, but it serves as a reminder that busy roads are not a good place to stop for photos.
