Jake Massey, a man from Middlesbrough who claims to have eaten 146,000 Yorkshire puddings, has explained why he loves them so much. With over 50,000 followers on TikTok, Jake has become a viral sensation, with one of his videos garnering over 1.1 million views. Appearing on This Morning, Jake spoke to Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond about his obsession with the beloved British dish.
“I grew up absolutely loving Yorkshire puddings,” he said. “It was even at a point where I was restricted on how many I could have on my plate.” Now, Jake can have more than 20 Yorkshire puddings in one day, and he plans to eat 200 over the Christmas period.
When it comes to his favorite way to eat them, Jake is a fan of Aunt Bessie’s, but he also has his own recipe which includes garlic salt. He spends around £50 a month on Yorkshire puddings, and despite his addiction, he has managed to lose five stone in the past year. While Yorkshire puddings may not be the healthiest food, Jake is confident that his alternative diet is working for him.
